One of my favorite weddings this year was Larissa and Joe’s. And it wasn’t just because their families were so sweet, or that they were so cute together, or the fabulous details, or even because Larissa’s middle name is my first name… it was a combination of so many things. They were married at Saints John and Paul Catholic Church in Wexford, followed by a reception at the Omni William Penn Hotel. Both gorgeous.
I love the expression on Larissa’s dad’s face when he first sees her.

You can’t blame him. She was a stunning bride.

The details.

Some behind-the-scenes action…this is why ladies like to go to the restroom together.

A face full of bubbles. This picture makes me laugh.

We made sure to get a few shots of Larissa’s dog, Louis (as in Louis Vuitton) – dog photo by my awesome second shooter Dan.

Larissa and Joe, we wish you both happiness, love, and laughter! Thanks for making Dan and I feel so welcome.

Molly is English and Eliot is American. They met while while playing basketball. Their wedding was a fun Jewish/Catholic affair with lots of laughing, dancing and happiness! The backdrop for the day? The ever impressive Grand Concourse. Oh did I mention they had cupcakes from Coco’s Cupcakes, a fresh donut station and a candy buffet?! Yum!!
Molly has great taste in fashion. Love her short 50’s style dress, which she paired with ’statement’ shoes to compliment the blue lining inside of Eliot’s vintage style English 3 piece tailored suit.

Cupcakes, candy and donuts… oh my! (images of donuts by Kevin)

The reception was a good time.

It was a really REALLY good time.

And we ended the night with the Hora. I think this description of the Hora from theknot.com sums up the picture quite nicely:
“No Jewish wedding is complete without the Hora, or chair dance, most likely derived from the tradition of carrying royalty on chairs. A few strong and brave guests hoist the bride and groom high above the crowd on chairs to the infectious sounds of “Hava Nagila”. Friends and family dance around in an ecstatic circle as the elevated couple tries not to look (or fall) down.”

Molly and Eliot, your wedding was a blast. Thanks for having us and I wish you a lifetime of happiness as you start your life in Chicago.

Oh wow… it’s been awhile since I’ve blogged. My apologies to the blog readers (some of whom have “lovingly” told me they were mad at me). Life just got soooo incredibly busy and the first and well… maybe the ONLY thing to have really suffered was the blog (oh and my social life, but no one cares about that anyways
).
Wedding season for us this year started in early May with some gorgeous couples and wonderful venues.
We start with Kawa and Dan.
Kawa planned her entire wedding from California with help from friends and family. Dan is from the Pittsburgh area and of course, a HUGE Steelers fan. Their ceremony was held at St. Mary of the Mount overlooking the beautiful city of Pittsburgh.

Kawa was a stunning bride!

The bride had lived all around the world and some of her friends from far away came to her wedding. I’m no psychic, but I’m guessing she was thrilled to see them!

Some fun portraits on Mt. Washington and at Phipps.

Later on at the reception, both Kawa and Dan changed into these stunning, traditional Chinese garments (image below by my second shooter Kevin).

Thanks for having us on your special day! Much happiness and best of luck in Switzerland!!

In an earlier post, I had mentioned that I was in Mexico for a wedding. Ryan and Dienna are one of those fun couples you just love hanging out with. Their families are also wonderfully sweet and such a blast to be around. Here are some of my favorite images from that fabulous, romantic wedding by the beach:

It was a gorgeous day; sand, waves, puffy clouds, light breeze, and amazing scenery. What more could you ask for?

The day ended with a breathtaking sunset , dancing and more good times!

Wishing you both a lifetime of happiness and love!
