Hi! Welcome to the Muse blog. I’m Eileen (yes, I’ve heard the 80’s song with the same name in it). I’m a photographer based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I grew up all over the world, living in three different countries and three different states. That’s probably why I love to travel, especially for photography!
I have to debunk that popular myth and let you know that not all artists are tortured souls. I LOVE what I do and I’m incredibly happy doing it. I believe the ability to capture the happiness at weddings, the bond between families, the gentleness between a parent and their child, or the beauty of this world- requires a certain joy. You can’t capture what you don’t see in your heart.
I am blessed beyond measure to be doing what I do. Growing up, I have always gravitated towards the arts; painting and photographing since I was in high school. Later as a video editor, a videographer, and an artist, I continued to be drawn to the beauty of everything visual. It was this fascination with the visual world that led me to be a part of Muse. In 2007, I married my amazing husband and Kim photographed the wedding! Kim and I remained friends after my wedding, one thing led to another, and we eventually started working together.
Every photographer and artist has their own unique point of view; it’s the foundation of their individual style and approach. I view the world with joy, and I delight in capturing it in the lives of other people.

A little Q&A:
I love: Jesus, my husband, family, sunflowers, kittens, that first warm day after the snow melts, shoes, the ocean, chocolate, seafood, PSU football games, random acts of kindness, fairytales, the color green
I’m annoyed by: long lines, bugs
On a summer day, you’ll find me: outside…doing pretty much anything as long as it’s outside
My friends would describe me as: artistic, sensible, cheerful, competitive
One of my quirks is: I talk to animals like they are little kids
You could pick me out of a crowd by: hmm I don’t think you can…I’m pretty stealthy
I’m inspired by: love, artists from the past (Van Gogh, Rembrandt), movies
I love photography because: a) it lets me capture a second of history; b) it lets me create art without a brush and canvas; c) it lets me see the world from a different perspective than others; d) it’s a medium that can capture emotions and allow someone to relive a certain feeling just by looking at the picture
When I was little, I wanted to be: an actress… it says so inside my 6th grade yearbook
I would love to learn: how to cook like my mom
